Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
An absolutely quintessential Tomorrowland attraction, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is — as the name informs — an original attraction conceived by Walt Disney himself, making its debut at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair.
Take a “tour” through the century in a revolving theater and see the ways progress and innovation have enhanced the lives of one family over four generations. This attraction’s final scene has recently been updated while staying true to the spirit of the Carousel’s beloved theme song, “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!”
FUN FACT! There are several Easter eggs on Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress! The final ride scene has 4 hidden Mickeys, and the grandmother from the attraction is actually the SAME grandma that appears in the ballroom scene in the Haunted Mansion.

Tomorrowland Dining
Counter Service Restaurants
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe serves up Counter Service classics right here in space! Dine on burgers, chicken nuggets, and the like while taking in some tunes by the restaurant’s main attraction…
… the audio-animatronic alien lounge crooner, Sonny Eclipse!
The menu at The Lunching Pad is small, but stellar.
Here you’ll find specialty stuffed pretzels (like the savory Pepper Jack Pretzel or the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel) along with a few more substantial bites (like Gourmet Hot Dogs!) to fuel your Tomorrowland touring.
Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant is only open seasonally (on the busiest of park days).
However, each night it serves as the base for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party, which you can learn more about by clicking here!
Snack Kiosks
Welcome to Energy Bytes! This futuristic spot is located right near TRON Lightcycle / Run. Visitors can look forward to doughnuts and cold brew coffee. More sweets include Strawberry IceOform featuring strawberry ice cream mochi and a frozen Watermelon Refresher and Pina Colada Slushy.
Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies is THE place to cool off with some soft-serve treats.
Craving a churro or a cold drink? Stop by Cool Ship!
(P.S. When Cool Ship is closed, you can find those Churros at The Lunching Pad.)
Specialty coffee and tea drinks can be yours (without the same lines you’ll encounter at the Main Street Bakery) thanks to Joffrey’s Revive!
And yes… you can find POPCORN in the future, too, by way of the Tomorrowland Popcorn Cart.
See it ALL in our Tomorrowland Food Tour from our DFB YouTube Channel!
Disney Characters in Tomorrowland
You may see Stitch making ROAMING appearances around Tomorrowland!
Please be aware that this is not a typical meet and greet experience as Stitch moves throughout the park. He will not currently sign autographs. However, he may still stop to pose for photos, and you can also find times for these appearances in the My Disney Experience app!
More Tomorrowland Fun
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties offer guests a chance to enjoy the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular with terrific views and, of course, fabulous food!
There are three versions of the Party from which to choose, and all offer a Dessert Buffet at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Learn more about each option by clicking HERE.
Tomorrowland Shopping and Merchandise
Tomorrowland Launch Depot is where you can grab all your TRON gear!
This store is also home a unique TRON experience!
With the TRON Identity Program, you can customize a “Program” action figure that looks and sounds like you and an identity chip that will interact with other merchandise as well, including Identity Discs and Remote Control Lightcycles.
Using Image Capture to scan your facial features, you’ll customize the action figure and then choose a helmet and body configuration.
After that, you decide if you want to be an Enforcer, Combatant, Scout, or Heavy Sentry, and then choose a team color.
Once those decisions have been made, you’ll head to Command Input to record 6 lines of dialogue! Disney notes that it takes about 20 minutes to make these selections and then another 60 minutes for your figure to be ready.
Click HERE to see the STEP-BY-STEP process for creating a personalized TRON action figure!
This experience require reservations which can be booked by visiting the Disney World website. Your figure will cost $89.99 plus tax. Payment is due upon arrival and guests can only get one action figure per User per experience.
The experience as a whole is limited just to the User (creating the figure) and one guest. At least one person in the party must be at least 14 years old or older. The figures are nonrefundable and they are NOT eligible for Annual Passholder (or other) discounts.
The location also offers D-Tech on Demand, a kiosk where guests can customize items such as MagicBands and phone cases.
Star Traders is Tomorrowland’s home for classic Disney souvenirs: mugs, plush, t-shirts, Mickey and Minnie Ears, and the like!
Ursa’s Major Minor Cart is a stand near the entrance to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover that offers similar souvenirs on a smaller scale.
While checking out your on-ride PhotoPass picture from Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, you can also find Toy Story merchandise at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Photos!
