Truly one of my favorite grab-and-go spots in Disney World, Starring Rolls is tiny, busy, and has some of the most delicious items I’ve ever tried, including the coveted Butterfinger Cupcake! While not technically a bakery, the shop rivals any of the other contestants with its rows of fresh and unique pastries and baked goods.
Atmosphere
Located on the corner of Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards, tucked back from the street, the Starring Rolls Bakery greets you with a bustling outdoor seating area.
Find your way inside the small bakery and, well, by this time I’m usually already in a queue line! Grab a plate and a tray right inside the door and take your time looking at the baked goods as you make your way to the registers.
The “theme” in the bakery is pretty thin, but the art deco design and flour bags on the baker’s rack would indicate that we’re somewhere in the 20’s, 30’s, and early 40’s — Hollywood’s heyday.
Once you’ve gathered your sweets, you’ll see across from the two main registers a menu with drinks, including coffee drinks and coffee syrups, liqueurs, and wines. Yep — they have some fancy bakeries here in Hollywood!
It’s in this area that you can also order sandwiches, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves…
Eats
You’ll find delectable baked goods, bagels, huge sandwiches, fudge, and more in this unassuming little bakery, and I suggest that you try a little bit of everything! It actually is quite a versatile place to find a quick bite, but if you’re going to sample those massive cupcakes, I recommend bringing a friend! Here are the photos you’ve been waiting for…
Whew! As you can see, there’s something for everyone in this tiny bakery tucked into Hollywood Studios. It’s a great spot to grab coffee and breakfast once you’ve secured your Toy Story Midway Mania fastpass and you’re on your way to the Tower, or to duck in for a quick bite when the sun’s getting a bit too hot for your taste mid-afternoon!
If you haven’t yet been to Starring Rolls, I urge you to check it out on your next trip. It’s a delightful little spot offering yet another different menu and different style of baked goods from all other bakeries on property. Enjoy!

My favorite food to get at Starring Rolls is the veggie wrap. It’s very healthy and VERY tasty! Good price for it too makes for a great value. When I want a quick lunch at Hollywood Studios, I love to stop at Starring Rolls for the veggie wrap.

Thanks for the suggestion, Matt. That’s also a great one for me to add to the best WDW vegetarian dishes post.

I’m glad to hear about the healthy veggie wrap option from Matt (love the podcast, BTW!). We’re leaving in 2 days and I’m trying to look for healthier food options on this trip.
But, holy cow, that chocolate peanut butter cupcake is calling my name!
AJ says
Looks good, doesn’t it Shayne?! I haven’t ever tried one; have you?
Have a wonderful trip!!

Wow! Thanks for the review. Everything looks so good! We had breakfast there in April, 09, and the cinnamon rolls were yummy.
AJ says
Thanks MaumeeMom! Everything DOES look good. My New Year’s Resolution of getting back in shape is not helped by writing blogs like this! 😉

AJ says
Cody — It’s closed? No kidding! I’ve never seen it closed. And I always want pics! 😉
Shayne — Looking forward to hearing what you think about Starring Rolls.
Nat says
I can’t wait to try this cafe in May! Do you they allow a take away for the cupcakes so that I could buy a few and take them back with me?
Loving the blog!
AJ says
Nat — There’s really nowhere to sit IN the bakery, so taking away is definitely an option. 🙂
Courtney says
Those sandwiches look fantastic, but are they pre-made? if so do you know whats on them? I will not eat anything with mustard.
Allison says
I like Starring Rolls but it’s always very frustrating……
Inside the place there are always people causing mayhem at the registers whilst they establish what is / is not a snack on the dining plan. The rejected items then have to be passed across the store to various family members to return whilst retaining their position at the front of the line.
Outside the tables are mostly occupied by people eating their own food they brought into the park with them or people who have family in line behind you. The end result is that you have food but no table, they have a table but no food.
The one time I bought merlot there it came out of the fridge! That really did not work so I asked for a refund. Apparently their policy is that all wine must be kept in the fridge.

I visited The Starring Rolls Cafe on Wednesday Sept 30th, 2015. The menu is great, the sandwiches and deserts are very tasty. Better than average Disney food. The high light of the trip there was the cashier, Cynthia. What a wonderful, energetic worker. She loves her job, and loves the interaction with the customers. She has an outstanding personality and sense of humor. All 6 of us in our party loves her. Thanks to Cynthia, keep up the great work.
