Anyone else out there remember their first plush toy from Disney World? Maybe you got a brand new Mickey Mouse plush, or Minnie, or maybe even a Goofy doll!
Not me. Nope. I got the mariachi tomato from Kitchen Kabaret as my first Disney World toy! Clearly I was destined to be a Disney Food Blogger! 😉
Anyway, a few months ago I was touring One Man’s Dream in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and I came across none other than my first Disney World toy!!
Granted, mine was a miniature version of this, but it brought back so many memories (I really loved that tomato)! So I had to tell you about it just in case you’d like to head over to see it.
They also have the broccoli plush on display (and I think IKEA has stolen the blueprints for their new popular, but clearly less hip, broccoli toy…).
Anyway, just wanted to share these fun finds with you — especially since Kitchen Kabaret has been immortalized (?) through a Vinylmation collection! 🙂
UPDATE: Check out what reader Candace Henderson sent over!! This fun “basket of fruits and veggies” sites on her dining table to bring back great memories!

I have the eggplant and banana sitting in my kitchen! You can check them out here (along with a vintage thermos from Sci Fi Dine In Theater):

I had those too! We loved the “Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit” song, and had the broccoli plush and a set of refridgerator magnets of all the mariachi veggies. Love!

Oh! I miss my stuffed broccoli! I wish I still had it! Kitchen Kabaret was one of my favorite attractions.

Somewhere in the depths of my parents’ basement is a broccoli plush just waiting to be dug out and displayed prominently in my house. It was a souvenir from my first Epcot trip in 1988.
Thanks for the reminder of one of my favorite extinct Epcot Center attractions! I still listen to the KK Medley on my old “Official Album.” I love the ham and eggs routine…

I loved the Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit song!! I totally had one of those tomatoes and took it to bed with me at night. Is it weird I slept with a stuffed vegetable during my childhood?
