As we mentioned in our recent round-up, the 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival has upped the ante by one day this year — extending its original dates to September 28-November 12, 2012!
But that’s not all the new info we have about our favorite time of the year!
New Food and Wine Festival Marketplace Booths
This year, the Epcot Food and Wine Festival will debut a Vegan Marketplace Booth, called TERRA (which we reported on last week), and a new Florida Marketplace Booth!
TERRA Vegan Marketplace
At TERRA, guests will indulge in vegan specialties like Trik’n Chick’n Curry with Basmati Rice and Chili Colorado with House Made Chips and Cashew Cheese (YUM!).
Florida Marketplace
The new Florida Marketplace will offer fresh local flavors with a twist! Check out this Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Veggies and Crispy Plantains!
VIP Marketplace Chef Tours
This sounds like an amazing addition! On Wednesdays, Food and Wine Festival Chefs will host walking tours of the World Showcase Booths!
Attendees will get to taste five dishes from various marketplaces as well as five beverage items (yep, alcohol included!). Guests will also be treated to some culinary secrets from the chef hosts!
Kid-Friendly Tastes
Remember our 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Tips from last week where we told you to bring the kids? Looks like there’s even more reason to do so this year!
Kids will be treated to more child-friendly drinks at the festival this year, along with kid-eriffic eats like cheese fondue and beef empanadas!
Eat to the Beat Concerts
As we reported earlier, the Eat to the Beat Concerts will be THE place to be for music this Fall in Disney World! Check out several new acts as well as some of your returning favorites. The full Eat to the Beat Concert Schedule can be found here.
Culinary Events and Demonstrations Are On the Docket!
The popular Party for the Senses returns October 6, 13, 20, 27, and November 3 this year; and celebrity chefs like Robert Irvine and Rock Harper will be back in action at the 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
Great news for dessert lovers? The “3D” Disney’s Dessert Discovery will return on select Fridays.
Guests can call 407/WDW-FEST (939-3378) to make reservations. Information and reservations for select events and programs will be updated throughout the summer at www.disneyworld.com/foodandwine.
Be sure to watch our 2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Overview Page for all the latest news about the Festival!
Kelly says
So glad that Party for the Senses is going to be held October 27! We were worried it wouldn’t be since it wasn’t on the same weekend last year. Woo!
AJ says
Kelly — Yay!! Guess the other event isn’t coming back this year! Will you be going to more than one party? Would love to see your pics again this year.
Shayne says
Just called the number listed above and the CM told me they are not yet accepting reservations for Party for the Senses. We are planning to go on October 6th!
AJ says
Shayne — Yes! Thank you. Just got the info from Disney that PFTS booking date will be announced later on. Sorry for the delay in that info, my friend!
Kelly says
AJ – probably not more than one party. We’re doing an extended weekend from Oct 27-30 so we can properly indulge at Food & Wine (and not have to worry about driving back home.) I’m sure I’ll be up at least one or two other times during the Festival though!
JoAnn says
According to a comment left by Pam Brandon on the Disney Parks Blog, PFTS reservations start on August 14.
Amie says
Will the Dessert Discovery reservations be available on Aug 14th as well?
venessa says
Only on select Fridays? =( Oh pooh. I really doubt it’ll be there the last week of Food and Wine. *wishful thinking?* That’s when we’re going, Nov. 8th-12.
Cana Nudi says
Any chance that the Party for the Senses will extend to the Veteran’s Day Weekend? We attended it on the last weekend in 2011 and we were hoping to combine that with the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert again. Please send info regarding this.
Kristi D says
How do I sign up for the Wednesdays Marketplace VIP Chef Tours?
Gary K says
When does the list of events at this years Food & Wine Festival come out. Last year we missed out on a few demo’s the Chiefs had & we dont want to miss the one we want this year.
Thank you
AJ says
Gary — We’re not sure of the exact date when Disney will release the info, but you can keep an eye on DFB and we’ll have the info as soon as possible! Usually it’s released in July and August.
Stefany says
We were trying to get a reservation for V&A Chef’s table and found out that they will be having their signature dinner on Oct 28 (thus no Chef’s table reservations were available for that night)…
AJ says
Stefany — Thanks for the update!
Wayne C says
When can passholders make reservations for F&W events? I am rady!
Saskia says
OK….I love Disney and the FWF in particular – as much as the next person but I really wish they would give us the dates for the events. How can we plan a trip – and one that is usually costly – with so little time. We are going to end up paying more for plane tickets and will be lucky if we can get into our favorite resor. Surely they at least know the dates!
OK…..I feel better now. Thanks for listening to the babble. I hope to get to 3D Deserts and PFTS this year but I’ve quit holding my breath.
