Vegetarian Haggis with Neeps and Tatties
7-10-13 UPDATE! The Scotch Egg has been removed from the Scotland menu and replaced with…VEGETARIAN HAGGIS with Neeps and Tatties (Griddled Vegetable Cake with Rutabaga and Mashed Potatoes)!! We don’t currently have a photo of this, but we’ll get one as soon as we can! 🙂
Loch Lomond Cocktail
This sharp drink is made with Scotch, Drambuie, and dry Vermouth. It will join other beverages at the Scotland Booth this year.
Interestingly, there are some Scots who are criticizing Disney for their booth menu choices, claiming that several of the items were not invented in Scotland. Disney responds by saying that the menu choices reflect comfort foods that appeal to a broad audience.
Scotland did supplied over 40 possible menus to the chefs.
Epcot Food and Wine Festival Brazil Booth
A newly returning booth to the 2013 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, Brazil will feature a pork belly dish as well as this addition!

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Africa Booth
While we’re not sure whether the South Africa booth has morphed into a full-on Africa booth or not, this new drink will please visitors no matter where it is.
Brown Elephant Cocktail
This creamy concoction of Amarula cream liqueur, milk, and Coca-Cola will be an interesting addition to the Food and Wine Festival “drink-around-the-World” menu!

Dana says
Do we know if the Canada booth will still have the spicy chicken sausage with corn polenta? That’s one of my favorites, and I’m hoping it will still be there!
Katie says
I want everything in this article! I may not make it to the half after eating all of this…
Randi says
These all look really good! It’s a shame I won’t be able to get down to Florida to try any of them. But I did notice (and love) all the Hidden Mickeys on the plates!
Ashley says
A cocktail with Amarula?! Sold! I cannot wait to try it!
Carol says
Me to Ashley!!! I love Amarula!!
Lexi says
Looks delicious! And AJ, I know this is off-topic, but I went to purchase tickets to snack attack October 2nd and got an error, are they sold out?
Mardie says
I am going to the FAWF for the first time ever this year… and want to try EVERYTHING! That garlic shrimp from Australia looks fantastic.
Summer says
110 Days!!! I can’t wait to EAT ALL OF THE THINGS!!! (Must start working out to prepare!)
Lisa says
Man, I’m feeling sad that I won’t be at F&W this year. I’d love to try the Scottish booth.
Alan says
I would love to try every single thing pictured! But the festival never fits into our schedule. Rats!!! and I don’t mean Remy.
CanadiansLoveWDW says
i would like the recipe for the dessert from Scotland… every receipe i have tried from this blog has turned out fantastic…
Galloping Gourmand says
I missed the Austrailian booth when it was gone. They had my favorite overall collection of dishes.
Essie says
OMG, all of the seafood looks wonderful and the desserts would be welcomed also. I’m not really a drinker, but the drink with the Coke sounds very inviting as well as the sparkling wine and pomegranate juice. Of course, I could never turn down Canada’s Filet and Risotto with the butter truffle sauce!
Greg says
I can’t believe Canada would remove the Cheese soup as popular as that is.
cupcake says
No more Pumpkin Mousse?!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Keith says
Vegetarian Haggis?….just when I thought I heard ’em all. What is next?…vegetarian steak or BBQ? Silly
Maggie says
A lot of seafood items for new dishes 😛 no good for us land-lubber types. I am thoroughly intrigued by the idea of vegetarian haggis, sounds like an impossiblility, but I will definitely try it if it’s on the menu. Can’t wait for October!
Chris says
Replacing Scotch Egg with Veggie Haggis? really? laaaame :0\
Heather says
Errm I’m trying to figure out how haggis could be veggie? It is the Scottish national dish and by definition is sheep organs stuffed inside sheep stomach. (Today sausage casing sometimes replaces the stomach) Sounds like they are passing off veggie “sausage” as something Scottish.
Sharon says
Vegetarian haggis is actually found quite commonly in Scotland. Banoffee pie however isn’t Scottish at all! Personally, if I was to put together a menu to show people the best of Scottish food I would have went with Stovies and Oatcakes, and then for dessert cranachan. Both lovely, something most would enjoy and definitely Scottish!
Paul says
Sharon; spot on. Give me Veggie Haggis or Stovies over a “Scotch” Egg any day! Agree that Cranachan would have been the ideal desert or maybe some Clootie Dumpling!
Heather; the Veggie Haggis just replaces all the meat elements with a mixture of oats and grains. According to the leading manufacturer of Haggis here in Edinburgh 1 in 4 haggis sold in Scotland are Veggie! It looks and tastes very much like regular haggis…I prefer the real thing though. Understand why they wouldn’t serve it at Disney, doesn’t “sound” overly appealing to most.
As long as the Whisky is a good malt then Disney have done well by me. Although if they wan’t to add some Black Pudding, Square Sausage & Fried Egg Rolls on the menu that would be just fine; as long as there’s gallons of Irn-Bru to wash it down with. Scotch Pies, Bridies and Mince & Tatties are also welcome 🙂
I wonder what “Beer” will be representing our wee nation…
Jane says
Just got back from a morning at Food & Wine. The vegetarian Haggis was the best new offering this year. It was wonderful. Even my very meat-eating husband wanted to go back to Scotland for another serving of V.Haggis!
The dessert trio: You can order them individually but you do NOT get a larger portion. You get the same exact size. If purchased separately they are $1.75 each. Buy all three and save 50 cents. We had no interest in the orange chocolate cupcake so we did not order a trio. They also have a frozen Smores smoothie that was not that good. They chill the whole thing together so the mini marshmallow garnish on the top become hard tastes lumps.
I am planning to make the vegetarian haggis at home. It is that good.
Suzanne Switzer says
Is pumpkin mousse being offered at the 2013 Epcot food and wine festival? If so, where?
AJ says
Suzanne Switzer — No; pumpkin mousse is not being offered this year.
