Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Announcing the arrival of young royal Sofia the First to Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios… and joining Her Highness is fellow Disney Junior star, Doc McStuffins!
That’s right! Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins have joined their pals Jake from “Jake and the Neverland Pirates” and (AJ’s favorite 😀 ) Handy Manny for the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine character meal.
Not only do the characters mix and mingle, but Play n’ Dine also features “musical moments” where all the kids are invited to sing and dance along (while Mom and Dad can keep on eating)!
Sofia and Doc McStuffins bring a few new tunes along with them: “Anything” (Sofia) and “Ready for Action” (Doc McStuffins). Some other favorites remain in the mix, too: “Talk Like a Pirate” and the “Hot Dog Song,” to name a few.
Have you seen kids around these characters? It’s pint-sized Beatlemania… and it’s pretty great, actually 🙂 . For the little Disney Junior fan in your life, this may be one of the most memorable experiences of their Disney vacation. (And I, for one, would love the opportunity to ask Doc McStuffins where she got those totally awesome shoes!)
If you’re interested in learning more about the Play ‘n Dine experience, be sure to check out our breakfast and lunch reviews! And remember, when you are making your Advanced Dining Reservation, characters are featured at breakfast and lunch only.
Which characters will your kiddos go crazy for? Let us know in the comments below!

We had a ball there in November! My kids loved it! I’m a little bummed we missed Doc and Sofia. I guess we’ll be going back the next time we go to Disney.

I thought the little ones cried a lot when confronted with Mickey Mouse.
I’m an Adult those things creep me out.

We went for my son’s 2nd Birthday in August and he loved it!! I’m sorry to see June (his favorite little Einstein) and Oso go! I think I got just as excited as he did lol We went and met Sophia at Christmas but didn’t do the play and dine but we probably will this year again for his birthday. I can’t wait to see his reaction to Doc! He loves Sophia the first and Doc. Honestly this mommy doesn’t mind watching them either lol

Doc looks great! I’m sorry to see June go – I kinda love the Little Einsteins, and when we were there last month, my almost 3 year old nephew was crazy about June. He kept looking for her and giving her the cutest smile when he saw her.

My daughter, who would rather skip the characters and just eat the food, age 8, can’t wait to meet Doc on our upcoming trip. She told me she wanted an outfit, glitter head band, and shoes to match. (We came close on the “costume.”) Doc is such a positive roll model for young girls, we are happy she will be there. My son loves Sofia and his favorite, Handy Manny. Last year he took wore his H.M. tool belt and Handy Manny used his hammer! My son was thrilled.

I’m bummed about Little Einsteins slow exit from the programming and this character meal. It was a good show and exposed kids to classical music, art and geography. Not as big of a fan of Sophia or Doc, but I understand that they are simply more popular now. Hold on for dear life, Handy Manny!

Aww, I saw this coming but I’m sad June and Oso are gone. They are from my sons’ favorite shows, after Mickey Mouse clubhouse. I can understand that Sofia and Doc are more recent, popular, and appeal more to girls, but I actually savored this one place at Disney that actually catered more to boys (Oso, Manny, Jake). Besides, you can already met Sofia and Jake by the Disney Junior show (and see them along with Doc in the show), so now there are less Disney junior characters to meet overall. 🙁

I love this character meet and greet. It is one of the best if your kids are into playhouse Disney. I am sorry to see Oso go and June. Glad the kids got to see them last year though. I love that they have Sofia here and will definitely be booking booking this place for our next visit.

We LOVED this breakfast! We had a reservation for 8 am. The park opened at 8 so we got there at 730. We ended up being the first people to check into the restaurant and much to my surprise we were the first family of the day!!!
We were given a certificate and the chance to take a photo with ALL FOUR characters at the same time! It was amazing.
I’ll never forget that breakfast. My daughter had a great time!
