Aloha! Ahoy! AHA!
Are you ready to raise a glass in honor of Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary — and the no-longer-with-us Tahitian Terrace Restaurant — at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar?
The Tahitian Terrace Diamond Luau will be taking place at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel on August 10th and 11th. This ticketed event will feature the Tahitian Terrace Tribute Show (the restaurant and show closed in 1993), an historical overview presentation by Disney Imagineers, and, of course, food! The menu will
include items from the original Tahitian Terrace Restaurant (photo below courtesy of davelandweb.com), and guests will receive two drink tickets good for the non-alcoholic Tahitian Punch, the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration Drink, wine, or beer.
Guests will also receive a commemorative Tahitian Terrace Diamond Luau Lei, a print of the Tahitian Terrace on parchment, and a recipe card for Tahitian Punch.
Oh, and you know how souvenir glasses are kind-of-a BIG DEAL at Trader Sam’s? Guests will also receive a special edition Diamond Tiki Glass and swizzle stick (guests will also have the ability to purchase up to two more Diamond Tiki Glasses).
Admission for the event is $150 per guest, pre-paid, for either the 5:00-6:30 pm event or the 7:00-8:30 pm event, and reservations are open now. To purchase, visit disneyland.com or call (714) 781-DINE.
Would you like to attend the Tahitian Terrace Diamond Luau? Please let us know with a comment!

We ate here a few times in the 1980s. I would order the teriyaki chicken, which came with a new type of rolls I hadn’t seen before…a Hawaiian roll! I felt so grown up! Also, I think you received a shell lei when you arrived. Today, I looked at the old menu on daveland.com, and noticed they had a “Montea Kristo” sandwich. That gave me a chuckle!
I think Disneyland should reopen the Tahitian Terrace, with an Ohana inspired menu! Please please please!!! It’s current use as a pick up location for Fantasmic picnic boxes and a restroom is a true waste of a great restaurant.
Aloha!

There is something very unsettling about that cup. Looks like a bedazzled toilet paper roll or somethin’.

I would love to go!

How cool is this? Growing up only a few miles away, I’ve got many Disney memories. Would love to go as I pass the Disney Magic on to my daughter now.

I would love to attend your laua event, but for the wife and I $150.00 a tcket is a little steep, being annual pass holders we love to come to your different events, you just need to make affordable for people to attend, I know it’s all about marketing, but it sure would be nice. Thank you

I saw this on Disneyland’s website this weekend when I was there. I’d love to take my family, but wonder if there will be vegetarian options?
Barb says
I was curious about vegetarian food options at the Diamond Luau. I had seen an old Tahitian Terrace menu, and they were big carnivores back in the 50s-60s! I can eat well at Disneyland, but for $150, I did not want to have just a plate of Trader Sam’s panko crusted Chinese long beans. (as good as they are….) I called the Disney dining number, and the CM said she talked to the chef over there. I think I was told there was to be the long beans and maybe another veggie item. I was told to tell them at check in for the Luau that I was veg. I do not know what to expect, but have been very happy with the many veggie options at DLR so far. The only real problem in the whole thing, were the check boxes in the reservation process. There were many food allergy items listed, including fish, but meat and poultry were not listed. It would have just cleared up the whole issue if those items were included or if there was a vegetarian tick box, too. All that aside, I am totally psyched to go to the Diamond Luau!

I would love to see the Luau come back!!!

DFB Sarah says
Sandy, anyone entering the park — even if it’s just for a restaurant — will need a ticket.
