UPDATE: We have learned that most edible purchases from the Shop Disney Parks app are NOT eligible for shipping. It appears that food items may be added to the electronic shopping carts erroneously, and attempts at purchasing edibles will likely be blocked. Guests can continue to utilize the in-Park food finding options in the app.
Have you had a chance to check out the new Shop Disney Parks app?
‘Cuz it’s actually pretty cool! At a quick glance, it doesn’t seem much different from the online Disney Store.
But it turns out there’s a lot more to it… like, A LOT.
Sure, there’s plenty of great Park merchandise (for instance several, if not just about all, of the items from Marketplace Co-op can be found).
But Disney FOOD plays a pretty major role, too! Do you see it? The “Snacks and Groceries” option in the categories below?
The app is designed for use both in Disney World and at home to help you find items (food and otherwise) more easily while in Disney World, or you can have some things shipped when you need a little magic sent right to you.
But first: don’t say I didn’t warn you… there is a LOT of stuff in here — as in, once you install the app on your device, get ready to lose an entire afternoon looking at pretty much everything under the hot Florida sun at Disney World!
Using the App When You’re In The Parks
So, let’s say you’re in Epcot. A few trips back, you found some uniquely flavored Toffee Candies for a fun snack. But now, you can’t recall where they were in the park.
That’s when you scroll through the Snacks and Groceries section of the app and find it. It may take a while, though! Like I said (twice already 😉 ), LOTSA STUFF. But choices can be narrowed under subheadings like “Candy” and Chocolate.”
Found ‘em!
Once you see an item of interest, just select it to find product info. You’ll see the Banana Split Eclair Toffee Candies comes up as an In-store Purchase Only.
Scroll down a little further on the screen, and you’ll see “Find on Map.”
Once you click it… TA-DA!! Your item is at the Tea Caddy in the United Kingdom Pavilion!
This is kind of fun even if you’re not in the parks. You can scroll through the app pre-vacation and check out some of the items that you’ve never noticed while onsite before and add them to your To-Try list!
But it’s important to note that many of the perishable food items are listed on the app, but are not available for shipping to your house. So, yeah, before you start placing orders for a bunch of Mickey Ice Cream Bars for dinner next week…
… not so much. He’s onsite only, too. BUT, don’t get too discouraged if you find yourself far from Florida…
Using the App At Home
I gotta say I was surprised the amount of things that ARE eligible for shipping, as designated by the “Add to Bag” and “Order Now” options that become available for items that can be shipped.
Like — seriously — Astronaut Ice Cream from the Mission: SPACE Cargo Bay!
Iced Cookies, too, from Cinderella to Boba Fett :). Perfect for you kiddo’s next birthday party!
Want to make some Potatoes with Afritude from Boma at home?
Think of the possibilities… stocking stuffers for the holidays! A pre-trip build-up-the-excitement package! A regular Thursday and you really want some licorice, but it’s just GOTTA Be Mickey-shaped!
Check it out, play around a little. I think you might be pretty surprised at some things you’re able to find!
What do you think of the new Shop Disney Parks app? Please let us know with a comment!

Can I also order souvenirs from the Netherlands?

Is this App only available in the USA, not UK as cant seem to locate on the Apple store?
Erin says
This was the best news EVER!! I dled the app immediately and placed an order for krispy treats, coconut patties, chocolate dipped shortbread rounds and African spice popcorn. 4 days until they arrive and hopefully tide me over until December’s trip!!
Beth says
Oh this is dangerous news. This means I no longer have to beg people for Rice Krispie treats from their leftover snack credits to tide me over between trips.
My tummy will be happy, my husband will not…

Does this app work for Canadians? I can’t see to find it on iTunes
Kristine says
For Apple devices: open App store. Change the drop down on upper left to “iPhone only”. The app should come up when you search.

I love the app! On my last trip to WDW I forgot about all the little food shops around Epcot and missed out on a lot of cool candies and such. I’m going to use this on our next trip!
Richard says
Sorry, this app is a fail on Disney’s part! Why would anyone make a single UI iPhone only app these days?
Really, it looks terrible on the larger iPhone screens especially the 6 Plus and iPad! These scaled screen mode feels like it was written 4 or 5 years ago!
Christine says
Well, so much for putting it on my IPAD…
However, did find it in the Android Google-Play store. YAY!

Please tell me you can order popcorn through this app.
I go through major Cookies n Cream popcorn withdrawals
Essie says
I don’t have a smart phone. PLEASE, someone tell me if this can be had on a laptop?
Wendy, do you know if it’s available for laptops? Thank you. I’m really excited about this.
Richard says
@Essie – Nope, iPhone and Android phones only. It will run on iPads and such but doesn’t look very good.

Glad I have an I-phone, based on the comments so far! I’m so happy with this app though, because I found a Christmas ornament on this site, that I really wanted, and it isn’t available on the Disney Store site. (Well, that and some candy I really have missed since my last visit, and thought I’d have to wait another year for!) You were right though…there is sooo much there to look at!

I just wanted to share a follow-up from my ordering experience. Love the app (aside from some small improvements that could be made), ordering was super easy and shipping was timely. I ordered 4 food items and they came in 3 separate boxes, each item was wrapped in a very cool Disney Parks tissue paper with a large Mickey sticker and a nice note on card stock. After opening each thing I notice that the popcorn had turned hard and melded together and the chocolate on the other items was totally melted. I called the customer service line to tell them (not to ask for a refund really, but just to mention that this happened for future orders they could maybe send it in a better way) and WELL come to find out, they aren’t supposed to send any food at all! She was shocked when I said I had ordered food and said a mistake was made on certain items in the app and orders for food are being blocked and she wasn’t sure how mine got through. So no food items are allowed to be shipped, which is a bummer. I know you can’t order kripsy treats through the Merchandise Guest Services Mail Order which this is essentially in app form, and didn’t even think of that at the time. She was very friendly and helpful either way and I at least was able to get some treats to tide me over until the next trip (melted or not!).

Hmmm…just ordered a couple of things from the snack portion of the new app this morning. The order went through, and I got a confirmation email. Now I’m wondering if I will get them…
Amanda says
Yea..I’ve been looking at the snack section and almost everything now says in store purchase only, even the things that are already boxed (like the shortbread). I even looked up the ones that were screen captured above, and they have changed as well.
Jan says
Guess I was the recipient of a little “Disney magic”, my order DID go through and I will receive my order of taffy, but checking back I, too, see that those things are no longer available for shipment. Going to have to make it last a looong time! (yeah, like that’s gonna happen!!)
Erin says
Oh I’m glad you got it! I wish they could find a way to let us order this stuff. I’m a krispy treat addict! I know I can make them at home, but it’s just not the same.. Well you know. 🙂
