This post is part of the DFB #OnTheList series, where we feature eats you’ve GOT to have while you’re at Disney! Let us know what’s on YOUR Disney Food Bucket List @DisneyFoodBlog #OnTheList!
You read the title. Peanut Butter. Cookie. Ice Cream. Altogether in a SANDWICH. Is it any wonder that the Home-made Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich with Warm Peanut Butter is #OnTheList this week?!
OK, so do you want a little background on this one? Here you go. A few weeks ago, I noticed that someone had tagged my instagram account with one of their pictures. And that’s when I started hardcore following Toms_Big_Eats. This guy is in the UK, but was visiting Orlando for a while; and I fell in love with this photographs from the trip.
Last Friday, he tagged me in his latest Disney World food pic…and I knew I. HAD. TO. HAVE. IT. Seriously, WHY HADN’T I THOUGHT OF THIS?!??!?!? We hit up Magic Kingdom this weekend specifically for the awesomeness you’re about to see…
Now, I’ve practically composed odes to the Home-made Ice Cream Sandwiches you can grab at several locations throughout Disney World — take Hollywood Scoops, The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, and Dino-Bite Snacks, for instance. They all serve up two big ol’ freshly made chocolate chip cookies with an enormous scoop — make that SCOOPS — of vanilla bean ice cream right in between.
In some locations, you can even pick your choice of ice cream flavor. (Remember the Birthday Cake Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich we sampled last spring at Sleepy Hollow?)
Well, do I have a sweet scoop for you, thanks to Tom’s ingenious craftiness! One of our favorite places to grab an Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich has a serious ace up their sleeve… and we’re not just talkin’ customizable ice cream flavors. Oh, no… let’s take a good look at The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor menu.
First, the sandwich: it’s YOUR CHOICE of any of their classic ice cream flavors (note that fat-free and no-sugar-added options can be found here, as well as Tofutti and Rice Dream). For what you’re about to see, the cast members highly recommended chocolate this go ’round…
Look at these enormous, freshly made chocolate chip cookies: slightly crunchy on the outside, chewy in the center. YES.
Now, remember that menu we showed you earlier? You’ll want to pay close attention to the bottom since it is easy to miss… it’s time to take them up on that option to “Add Hot Fudge, Peanut Butter, or Caramel Topping” to ANY item on the menu.
You know me by now, friends. Peanut Butter and I have had a long, gloriously happy relationship. So that peanut butter sauce was happening.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words… which is good, because I don’t have any that can relay the epicness of this situation.
My advice? Grab a knife, a fork, a spoon, a few thousand napkins, AND a seat with a totally sweet view of Cinderella Castle, and enjoy every warm-and-cold, sweet-and-salty, gooey, messy, delicious bite…
… right after you put it #OnTheList!
Now let’s all thank Tom, shall we?

Definitely adding the Ice Cream Sandwiches on my list of food to try when/if I get to go to Disney, and this looks really good!! Yumm… Now I have an intense craving for chocolate ice cream and it’s like 2° here in Canada and snowing. And it’s 2:30am. Never too cold for ice cream.
Gigi Burton says
Shut down the internet and go home! It does NOT get any better than this!! I can’t wait to get this during our next trip (which just happens to be for my birthday, so there is a good chance I’ll be eating this for breakfast)
Adrienne says
Has that option always been on the menu? I neeed to try this with strawberry ice cream and peanut butter topping!!
Becky @ Disney in your Day says
Wow! Looks incredible.
Fee says
Oh my word I just drooled in an unseemly manner!
Jessie says
Does anyone know if they have a version of this in Disneyland?
Essie says
I love caramel on anything, but on this, I think I’d go with the PB. I think the PB would add a nice touch of something that isn’t sweet to the ice cream and cookies.
Michele says
HOW HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT TO DO THIS??? This is life changing.
Wendy Snelgrove says
I would lift the top off the sandwich, pour on the pb sauce, and then pop the top right back on again. Yum. Now, here’s my dare to one of you (pics or it didn’t happen)… add hot fudge and pb sauce to this sandwich. I’ll die of a sugar coma but there will be a smile on my face!

Yum! I’m adding this to my list for our February trip!
James D. says
Jessie – There is nothing like this at Disneyland. Unfortunately, they do not have this type of chocolate chip cookie there.
Patricia says
You are an Evil Queen Genius. This is amazing. As if I wasn’t counting down the minutes until I get back there already…
Malea says
This is completely on my list. I plan on trying it with strawberry ice cream!
