Looking for a fun snack with some holiday cheer? Head on over to the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square for some Candy Cane Beignets!
Beignets are always a good decision, and Candy Cane flavored ones are an excellent decision.
Beignets are sold in 3 ($4.49) or 6 ($7.49) piece bags. The donut-like pastries are served up piping hot, covered in powdered sugar. You’ll notice immediately that the powdered sugar has a pink tint to it. That’s because it has crushed candy cane pieces mixed right in. You’ll also notice that the beignet below has a rainbow on it! This was just a lucky mistake. We happened to have a crystal glass sitting next to it and the sunlight hit it just right!
The peppermint flavor in the powdered sugar is subtle, but you most definitely can taste it. I think I enjoyed this seasonal beignet more than the pumpkin one from Halloween Time. Here’s a close up where you can see the crushed candy cane flecks.
If you’re a beignet pro, you’ll know why I tore up the bag…. If not, my secret is out! Tear off the top of the bag so that you have easy access to powdered sugar dipping without getting your hands even messier.
Candy Cane Beignets will be available through January 11th. If you are a peppermint fan, I say hurry on over to the Mint Julep Bar!
AND if you are interested in collecting Glow Cubes, the Christmas Bulb Glow Cube that AJ recently featured from WDW’s Hollywood Studios is available at the Mint Julep Bar. The photo I have is actually from the Small World Frozen Beverage Cart, but the same ones are here at the Mint Julep Bar.
They are so cute, and the Mickey pattern on them gives sort of a Mickey head disco ball effect in the dark. Really cool!!!!!! In addition to the seasonal glow cube, Elf Mickey Steins are sold here are well.
Do you love all things peppermint? Have you had a chance to try Candy Cane Beignets from the Mint Julep Bar? What did you think? Let us know in the comments below!

Tried these at Cafe Orleans and they are delicious! I miss the gingerbread ones but these are a great replacement!
