A few weeks ago, we received the news that BaseLine Tap House will be opening this fall in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
This new spot will serve up California beers, wines, and ciders along with a few small bites in what will be the Grand Avenue section of the park. And the offerings are fitting since Grand Avenue will be a celebration of downtown Los Angeles, complete with facades representing retail locations such as a music shop, loft apartments, and a tailor, among others.
Of course, this will bring to mind the shop and restaurant facades that previously made up this section of the park when it was known as the Streets of America.
And as a matter of fact, Grand Avenue will combine a portion of the Street of America with the space currently designated as Muppets Courtyard. There, the two restaurants in this area — PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italian — and the surrounding shops will all become a part of what will be Grand Park; essentially, an “urban square” off of Grand Avenue.
One of the first changes you can spot already is that the Muppets Theater — home to MuppetVision 3D — is now known as Grand Arts Theater.
It’s coming this fall, y’all… which isn’t very far away at all! We’ll look forward to reporting to you from Grand Avenue — and Grand Park! — soon!
Are you excited to check out Grand Avenue and Grand Park? Please let us know with a comment!

Really looking forward to this! Any chance it will be opening in the next few weeks?

I’m looking forward about that! I’m surely glad if I could enjoy it sooner.

Are they making any changes to the outside of Muppets Theater and the store and everything? Is the mini-muppet land still safe?
Minnie says
I have to say I feel very meh about this. Which surprised me because I am all for more spots to sit and enjoy a beer at the parks. It feels like a cop out to me. I would rather have waited for something that felt more a part of Hollywood Studios or whatever the future they want DHS.

I’m hoping it will be better than what Disney did with Pizzerizzo. I’m still a bit miffed about the fact that they made all those changes at that site and the product is still mediocre. They could have done something along the lines of Blaze and still incorporated the Rizzo and the Muppet characters. Hopefully mediocrity will not be the case with Base Line Tap.
