UPDATED: So this is a pretty big deal in Magic Kingdom! Festival of Fantasy Parade’s Maleficent float caught fire today during the show! See details here!
This week in What’s New, we’ve visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Disney Springs — and now it’s time to journey to the Magic Kingdom! We’ve got a few menu updates, some terrific merchandise, and a few extras! Jump on board our magic carpet, and let’s goooooo!
Magic Kingdom Menus & Eats
First up, we already reported this news, but it bears repeating: two more table service locations in the Magic Kingdom are now serving alcohol! Crystal Palace and The Plaza Restaurant now offer beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. This is likely in response to the updated 2018 Disney Dining Plan, which includes alcoholic beverages for those guests 21-and-up.
We also couldn’t wait to share the fun new attraction-themed Coca-Cola bottles available now in the Magic Kingdom (and in Disneyland Resort!)!
On Main Street, U.S.A., Plaza Ice Cream Parlor’s featured flavor is now Birthday Cake!
Get your cone Mickey-fied with two round chocolate pieces!
Over in Tomorrowland, the Lunching Pad has removed Salted Caramel Pretzels. Bummer! Since this location varies its pretzels regularly, we’re hoping this means the cream cheese pretzel will return! We’ll keep an eye on it for you!
Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies is jumping on the Millennial Pink trend with a Millennial Pink Milkshake! This strawberry milkshake is topped with pink cotton candy and a house-made Mickey marshmallow! (We’re in for the marshmallow alone!)
Auntie’s also serving up S’mores! (It’s no The Ganachery S’more, but it’s sugary and portable.) You’ve seen us review these s’mores in several other locations — read our review of them from Herbie’s (remember Herbie’s?!??!) here.
Pinocchio Village Haus is featuring a new flatbread for May, topped with Salsa, Queso (!), and Taco Meat with Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, and Sour Cream.
And there are lots of changes to the accompaniments on the dinner menu at Be Our Guest Restaurant! The Grilled Strip Steak now comes with Truffle Pommes Frites and Green Bean Jardiniere, the Pan-Seared Chicken Breast comes with Roasted Baby Squash, Braised Leeks, Confit Baby Fennel, Heirloom Tomatoes, and Mustard Laced Citrus Beurre Blanc, the Roasted Pork Tenderloin now comes with Crispy Perkshire Pork Belly, Carmelized Cipollini Onions, Asparagus, Watercress Puree, and Bacon Dust (what?!), and the Roasted Lamb now comes with Spiced Carrot Puree, English Peas, Buttery Sunchokes, Charred Belgium Endive, and Lamb Demi-Glace.
Don’t forget that Be Our Guest dinner menu will transform into a Disney Dining Plan 2-credit prix-fixe meal starting July 27!
In allergen-free cookie news, over at Liberty Market we found Enjoy Life Chocolate Chip Cookies in a new configuration. They used to come two large cookies to a pack, and they’re now several small cookies to a pack.
Magic Kingdom Extras
We’ve come to expect some cool extras at the Disney Parks, and while the Main Street Confectionery’s Chef of the Day isn’t new, it’s fun and worth a mention!
A kid or two (occasionally an adult!) are selected to be the Chefs of the Day and get to create their very own Mickey Krispie Treat right in the middle of the shop! Toppings on this day included milk chocolate for dipping or drizzling and lots of M&Ms!
Oh, and be on the look out for Big Al in Frontierland!
Magic Kingdom Merchandise
There’s a lot of awesome new Magic Kingdom merchandise this week, including new You Are Here Starbucks mugs! We gave you a peek at these recently but they’re totally worth another glance. So fun!
In other mug news, retro Disney cartoon fans will love these Talespin and Darkwing Duck mugs! We found these at Main Street Confectionery.
If you prefer your hot beverages in princess-y vessels, you’ll love these Cinderella and Belle tea sets with tea pots and tea cups!
Cinderella is found at Main Street Confectionery along with Belle, who can also be found at the Bonjour Merchandise Shop near Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland.
Dooney and Bourke collectors will want to check out these two new Cinderella additions.
And if you’ve been jonesing for the new Disney Eats collection, you can find Mickey and Minnie Apron Sets in the Magic Kingdom!
The sets include a Mickey or Minnie Apron and a chef’s hat!
Magic Kingdom Moment of Zen
And finally, some snaps from around the Magic Kingdom for a sweet moment of zen.
That’s it for now, Disney food friends! We hope you’re loving these looks into What’s New at Walt Disney World as much as we love bringing them to you!

Oh I need that Darkwing Duck mug! NEED!
Kit Jackson says
I am so torn. I WANT the TaleSping mug, but I hate that it doesn’t have Rebecaa or Molly. They were just as a big a part of the show as the guys.
