Are you counting down the days yet? Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens May 31, 2019 at Disneyland and we can’t wait to check it all out on opening day!
If you’re making plans to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23 there is something very specific that you’ll need: a reservation! And we don’t just mean at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels (though we’ll be talking about those shortly).
As we reported when the opening dates were announced, guests who wish to visit Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23 will need a valid theme park ticket to Disneyland AND a no-cost reservation to enter the land! There will be no standby access to Galaxy’s Edge.
Guests who are staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels are assured that they will get one of the no-cost reservations. We’re still waiting to hear about WHEN those no-cost reservations will become available to the guests with hotel reservations.
Guests with these no-cost reservations for the land will be given a specific window of time to visit Galaxy’s Edge and Disney appears to still be working on the logistics of this.
Check out this new video in Disney’s “Know Before You Go” series that just launched:
The best advice we can give? Make your Disneyland Resort Hotel reservations NOW if you want to get into the land between May 31 and June 23 and the no-cost reservation will be yours!
But remember – ALL of the Disneyland Resort Hotels are sold out on May 30!

Wayne, Disney has yet to explain how guests staying off-site will acquire a reservation time (which, yes, will be for a specific window of time). We’re watching, so we’ll update as soon as we see anything on this!

I just got an email from Disney with a Star Wars Land reservation as a hotel guest. I am staying in Club level over opening …but my reservation says May 30…is this a mistake or some special event reservation?!
DFB Sarah says
Jonathan, you’ll want to reach out to Disneyland directly for this question. We’ll keep our ears open with regard to dates that aren’t lining up.

I was only able to make a reservation for myself, even though the website said I would be able to add guests while making the reservation . 🙁

How about let’s chat about the fact that hundreds of people that worked on Galaxy’s Edge including 2/3 of the scenic painters are being denied tickets for the “contractor preview???
People who worked their asses off to create the planet of Batuu out of still and concrete.
Disney doesn’t care about the people who created what will make them BILLIONS!
