Disney Parks Blog announced new policies regarding strollers several weeks ago, and now the parks are making it easier to see if your stroller measures up.

Pre-security, these rectangles mark the boundaries of what size is allowable for strollers in the parks. All strollers must fit within the confines of this 31” x 52” rectangle when open.
This specification is in addition to the new policy that wagon strollers are entirely prohibited in the parks. Disney says the policies are designed to “ease guest flow and reduce congestion”.
No sighting of these spaces at Walt Disney World yet, but we will let you know when they come.

I’m glad to see this being done. Too many suburbitank size strollers are being used now and they clog up walkways and take up several seating/standing spaces on Disney transportation, even when folded.

I am among the happy people about this. Last trip strollers were bad and a 1/3 were used to tote stuff, bag checks were bad especially at Epcot and it was hard getting into stores and ride queues.

I have gone to Disney for years since the early 80s and I’ve never seen it as bad as it’s been the last couple of years I used to go to all the parks with a handicap with children we used one stroller a single seat and it was always ample but nothing made my daughter any angrier than to see .people with the large strollers bumping into me while I was trying to go to the parks with my children and take care of their needs and I didn’t require a stroller that was a size of a small car.l have a form of md and now have to use a mobility scooter but for years I took two little ones with a single stroller on two wobbly legs and two hands that barely worked and did just fine and had great times without having to take a travel trailer into the park

They need this in the Toy Story Parking lot. I haven’t seen one there. Parents will be testing it on Wednesday to see what they can get away with I am sure. Poor cast members to have to deal with parents yelling at them for enforcing the rules.

The specks on my double stroller say 31”. I measured the seat and frame at 31 but the wheels extend to 31.5. Anyone with experience of how strict they are being? I’d hate to get there and have it not work, but the specs said we’d be good when I ordered it…. it’s so close!
Jennifer says
Does it matter whether you have a side by side or front style stroller as long as it fits the measurements?
DFB Sarah says
Jennifer, the size is paramount, so as long as a side-by-side or front-style stroller fits, it’s fine! (Of course, still no wagons!)
Brittany says
Do we know if the measurements are from the wheels or the entire stroller, including handle and second seat that hangs a little in front of the front wheels?
DFB Sarah says
Brittany, let me look into this!
Kelly says
Our stroller is also 31.5. I’m wondering how strict they are with the policy? We will be going down in Sept and I really don’t want to have to buy a different one…
DFB Sarah says
For those looking for info on stroller sizes, I’m going to have our in-park teams check on this.
Sarah says
We just went, they were not strict at all. Also the paint boxes don’t aren’t there yet.

We went to hoolywood studios yesterday and no one even looked at my stroller. We saw many many big strollers still. I felt like they forgot to tell everyone runnimg the park that they changed the policy.
Sunny says
We going this August and wondering if the stroller suppose to be measured from handle to the wheel? Or just the wheel to wheel? Because I have a graco 2seat stroller in front and back it’s like a bench that toddler can sit on ?? Can anybody please let me know. We refuses to spend money on a new stroller or to rent one, thank you
DFB Sarah says
Sunny, I’m going to check on this.
DFB Sarah says
Sunny, at present, our on-site team has not seen Walt Disney World Parks security measuring strollers. In Disneyland, the measurements have varied, but on our recent visits, we’ve only seen the wheels being measured in the boxes. That’s to say, as long as the wheels fit in the box, they allow you to bring it in.
KP says
Hi. Since this policy has been in effect for a few months now, has there been any recent experience or updates on how strict they are on width? Like some previous posts, our double stroller measures from outside wheel edge to outside wheel edge is 32”. So it’s just proud of the 31” limit. The frame itself is 28” wide. If I rotate one of the wheels in then it will be within the limits. Has anyone experienced or seen how strict they are on the width? Or would you say they are using it more as a general guideline?
DFB Sarah says
KP, we still see varying strictness of this at Disneyland, but at Walt Disney World, they’re not strict at all, in our experience. I think if you can actually rotate the wheel in to fit, you shouldn’t have a problem.
Krista says
It’s nice to see that this is now being done. Was frustrating to see the lines being crowded up with awfully large wagons instead of strollers.

Thank you for the informative post.
