Summer is upon us, folks (here in Central Florida, at least)! And really there’s no better time to chill out by the pool or glide along a lazy river at one of Disney World’s Water Parks than now!
So we thought now is a great time to give you a bit of a rundown on what to expect when visiting Blizzard Beach this summer!
Disney World has two water park locations, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach places a classic ski lodge theme right in the heart of Central Florida, with all of the… well, the GOOFY-ness that a blizzard in Florida would bring! (You can check out the backstory of Blizzard Beach here.)
Dive in with us as we explore a few of the park’s current offerings!
Merchandise
Blizzard Beach sells pretty much anything and everything you could ever need for a fun day in the sun.
From park-exclusive merchandise, sunglasses, flip flops, swimsuits, swim shirts, sunscreen, beach toys, and towels, they’ve got you covered if you forget any fun-in-the-sun essentials.
Let’s check out some of the merchandise that’s really making a splash this summer! All of these items can be found at the Beach Haus merchandise location.
Doesn’t Minnie look adorable on this v-neck?
Mickey always looks REALLY excited when he’s skiing…don’t ya think?
I love how classic the artwork on this tee is…
And just in case it isn’t 100 bajillion degrees wherever you’re from, Disney also has a few long sleeve options (which are also nice for sun protection).
And just in case you forget your sunnies… Disney has you covered!
And we weren’t kidding when we said Blizzard Beach has flip flops. I mean, just look at all these options! They can be found at the Blizzard Beach Shade Shack.
Fun Offerings
There are a ton of fun things to do around Blizzard Beach even outside of the pools and slides. We thought we’d point out a few of them for you so you don’t miss them! For instance…
Did you know that Blizzard Beach has a spot where you can get temporary waterproof tattoos? And they actually look like the “I’m Celebrating” buttons that you can get for free around the parks!
The park also has a few fun character meet and greet opportunities. Let’s get one more glimpse of Goofy in his water park gear!
And the park is filled with fun photo opportunities, like the one seen below!
Life Vests and Towels
There are complimentary life vests available throughout the park. So, make sure you and your little one feel safe when splashing around and request a life vest, if needed!
There are also complimentary towels available for Disney Resort hotel guests. If you are not staying at a Disney Resort, you are able to rent a towel for $2 each, but you are also more than welcome to bring your own!
New Food Options
Blizzard Beach has a TON of food options available throughout the park. But, today we wanted to focus on some of the newer options that we have recently reviewed at Lottawatta Lodge.
The Blizzard Burger is one of these new selections. It is a smokey ham-jam on a pretzel bun.
The Salted Caramel Milkshake is another new and super SALTY-meets-sweet item. It’s sure a tasty way to cool off! Check out our review here.
Another new item is the fun and delicious Chocolate-dipped Key Lime Pie. Read our full review here!
Blizzard Beach also has a ton of classics and guest favorites within the park.
They serve everything from Mickey Ice Cream Bars, to Joffrey’s mini donuts (a MUST!), pretzels, and even turkey legs throughout the park.
Other Fun Stuff
Sun Forecast reports can also be found in the park. This is a great way to see what weather to expect for the day. The sign will also tell you a recommended SPF.
Refillable Mugs
Unlike the Disney parks…Blizzard Beach DOES have refillable mug options. You can get a refillable non-alcoholic mug for one day for $11.99. This price will include unlimited refills. If you want to use the mug another day, there will be an $8.50 reactivation fee.
There are also refillable draft specials. This is for premium or craft beer. The price is $13.95 and it comes with a souvenir cup. Refills are $5.50 for domestic beers or $6.50 for premium or craft beers.
Floaties
Cross Country Creek, the park’s lazy river, now offers three different styles of tube floats: regular adult tubes, child tubes (which don’t have a hold in the middle), and single chair floats. The single chair floats go pretty quick, so act fast if that’s your tube of choice.
Now let’s get down to the nitty-gritty with the IMPORTANT details.
Tickets, Hours, and More
Tickets are $69 for those ages 10+, and they’re $63 for children ages 3-9. Annual Passes are $139 for all ages over 3. Also remember, if you add the Park Hopper Plus option to your existing ticket, this will include both water parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon).
The hours are currently 10AM – 5PM, though the water parks tend to stay open later in the summer! So, check your My Disney Experience app or the Disney World website for more information.
Also, make sure you check out Disney’s inclement weather policy for the water parks!
The park rules for Blizzard Beach are the same as other parks. Click here to view a few new policies.
Splash Pack
Both water parks are still offering the Splash Pack through August 24, 2019. This offer gives you the opportunity to save 20% when you bundle your meal with a dessert, a refillable mug, and a character beach towel! Guests may choose any towel they’d like from the large shops or at the kiosks, except the surfboard mickey towel or the dole whip float towel. Read more about this offer here!
Have a BLAST making a SPLASH at Blizzard Beach this summer!

I’ve never seen complementary towels for hotel guests before. Is this new? It doesn’t mention anything about it on the WDW website.
grae says
In all of the other WDW Parks you are allowed to bring food/drinks into the park….is this also allowed in Blizzard Beach?
DFB Sarah says
Grae, same rules apply!
