There is so much news for Hollywood Studios right now, especially for Walt Disney Studios, the new land replacing Animation Courtyard.
The sorcerer hat has officially been installed in, and we just learned there are new Disney character handprints all around the land. Walt Disney Studios is set to open on May 26th, and it seems Disney is putting the final touches on the area.
Disney filed a new permit for the area to “install signage.” The permit is for the building that has The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. The show has remained open during the transformation, but most of the building is in the Walt Disney Studios area, so maybe they’ve decided to add some new signs.
We love it when Disney files new permits because it gives us a closer look behind the magic. It shows that Disney is always working on new projects and getting the parks in tip-top shape.
Within the area, you can join in on Olaf Draws!, which is an animation drawing class led by Olaf, with the help of real Disney animators. There will certainly be Disney characters drawn, so you can try to collect them all!
There will also be plenty of meet and greets. Some of them will be in front of fun, unique backdrops that represent different stages of the animation process.
Check out some of the handprints coming to the land, too! We weren’t expecting more handprints, like there are in front of the Chinese Theater, so it’s super cool that they’re expanding and adding more characters.
This isn’t the only thing opening in Disney World on May 26th! Bluey and Bingo will be making their Disney World debut in Animal Kingdom, ready to play games and take photos.
Soarin’ Across America will also open. This version is for the 250th anniversary of the United States and will take you over some of the country’s iconic cityscapes and natural beauty, like the Grand Canyon.
Sounds like we have an incredible summer ahead of us! Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news.
