A LOT is going on in Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now. Not only is a brand new Monsters, Inc. land being built, but Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is getting a Muppets makeover, and Animation Courtyard is being reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios.
Now, work on all three projects is coming right along, but we have a HUGE update to share about two of these projects: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets and The Walt Disney Studios. So let’s see what’s changed!
So we previously took a peek at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, and we’ve seen the car at the entrance get a groovy new paint job and noticed that the guitar in front of the ride is looking a lot more psychedelic. Well, something NEW has arrived at the ride, too: the artwork for the ride (it’s the poster we’ve previously seen).
We also noticed the Rock Around the Shop sign is visible now. It’s also got a super groovy font that’s SO very Electric Mayhem. This ride will open on May 26th, which is coming up REAL soon. Early previews have already been announced, too.
But those aren’t the only changes we spotted in Hollywood Studios. Over at what will soon be The Walt Disney Studios, there’s a new Walt Disney Studios sign above the Studio Theatre. It’s really happening, y’all!
The Studio Theater sign is in front of that. NICE.
This area will be reopening in phases, with Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! opening on May 26th (yep, May 26th is going to be BUSY in Hollywood Studios). The rest of the area will include The Magic of Disney Animation, an interactive take on Disney’s Animation headquarters. Olaf Draws is also coming to The Walt Disney Studios, which will be a live drawing lesson with an interactive Olaf.
There will also be new character greetings and the Drawn to Wonderland playground, which is based on the concept art of Alice in Wonderland created by Disney Legend Mary Blair.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more construction updates in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
